(Fort McMurray, AB – Friday, June 3rd, 2022) – FuseSocial is elated to announce the recipients of the Heart of Wood Buffalo Excellence Awards. The Heart of Wood Buffalo awards have been a pillar of FuseSocial since 2011, proudly celebrating the values of social impact and community throughout our region.
“To be surrounded by such givers, philanthropists, supporters and visionaries, I am inspired by the good there is in our community and the possibilities that lay before us,” said Chantal Beaver, Executive Director of FuseSocial.
The call for nominations launched in March of 2022 and more than 50 nominations were received to recognize leaders, humanitarians and organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life in our region. The top three nominees in each category were recognized on FuseSocial’s Facebook and LinkedIn over the past week, and winners were announced at the annual Heart of Wood Buffalo Excellence Awards ceremony on the evening of Thursday June 2nd. This year’s event was presented by Suncor Energy with additional support from CEDA, the Wood Buffalo Foods Bank, Fort McMurray International Airport and NorthStar Ford.
“To our nominees, this past year has been one of great angst – to have been recognized for your contributions and impact during such a time in our history is truly incredible. Whether you walked away with an award or not – you are amazing, and we thank you for all that you do. Leadership is a choice, not a position – and you are all leaders in Wood Buffalo,” said Beaver.
