(Fort McMurray, AB – March 21, 2023) – FuseSocial is pleased to announce a three-year partnership agreement with AirCon Technologies that will ensure social profit agencies have access to relevant, professional training and development opportunities, via the AirCon Training and Development Room, to support capacity building and sustainability in their programs and services.
“We are incredibly grateful to AirCon for their generous contribution,” says Shannon Rex, Executive Director of FuseSocial. “This partnership will help support FuseSocial’s Training and Development program by allowing us to continue to secure expert facilitators and provide a space for engaging in-person trainings, roundtables and workshops. We look forward to continuing to deliver in-person and online course offerings for our colleagues across the community for years to come.”
“We are pleased to be able to give back to our community in this capacity,” says Liam Burgess, AirCon Technologies Inc. “We recognize the significant impact non-profits have in our community and believe local organizations deserve access to training, skills development and leadership in order to thrive and continue to serve our community.”
The Training and Development program offers social profit employees, at both the leadership and staff level, courses and workshops designed to grow and enhance their understanding in the following areas: operational excellence and technical training, organizational capacity and strategic planning, truth and reconciliation, working with people, problem-solving and executive director and board support.
In 2022, FuseSocial’s Training and Development program offered 24 sessions to the social profit sector, attended by 315 individuals from 177 unique agencies. This is a substantial increase from the 286 individuals that attended sessions in 2021. Pivoting from offering predominantly virtual sessions in 2021 due to the pandemic, to a blend of both in-person and virtual in 2022 was well received as people were energized to get back to in-person learning and interaction.
FuseSocial’s Training and Development program is also funded in part by Suncor Energy Foundation, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and the Government of Alberta.
