About FuseSocial

FuseSocial is a nonprofit organization that exists to support and strengthen the nonprofit sector in Wood Buffalo. We work alongside nonprofit leaders, organizations, and volunteers to build capacity, develop leadership, and create lasting community impact.

How We Support the Sector

  • Our programs develop confident, connected leaders who are equipped to create positive change in their organizations and communities. Through Leadership Wood Buffalo, networking opportunities, and dedicated executive director and management training, we help individuals strengthen their leadership skills and build their confidence.

  • Strong governance is the foundation of a strong organization. We support nonprofit boards through customized governance training tailored to each board. Through specialized programs like Alberta Board Member Essentials certification, and a dedicated governance week in the fall that helps board members network, learn, and grow their confidence in the board room.

  • We connect passionate volunteers with organizations that need them most. Additionally, we work closely with organizations to strengthen their volunteer program from the inside out.

    Throughout the year we host multiple volunteer appreciation events and initiatives to enhance volunteerism in Wood Buffalo.

  • Affordable, flexible access to a team of internal consultants for marketing and communications, human resources, evaluation and research, leadership coaching, and governance and strategy. Clients can choose from a variety of packages depending on their needs to help lighten the workload so they can focus on what matters most: their program, clients, and mission.

  • We work beyond individual organizations to strengthen the nonprofit sector as a whole.

    FuseSocial plays a leadership role in advancing the sector through collaboration, research, and regional and provincial partnerships. By convening leaders, contributing to sector-wide initiatives, and helping shape the future of nonprofit work, we support a more connected, resilient, and sustainable community.

  • We believe organizations are strongest when staff and leadership are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to effectively lead change. We offer complimentary and low-cost training and development to nonprofits across the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
