The Alberta Board Member Essentials (ABME) program offers comprehensive training for new and advancing board members through a blend of online modules and in-person interactive workshops, equipping them to serve effectively on nonprofit boards.
For new board members, ABME provides essential foundational knowledge to support their early contributions. For those with more experience, the program deepens their understanding of nonprofits, emphasizing the role of both individual board members and organizations within the broader social sector.
Program Structure and Format
ABME certificate is given upon completion of the following:
On-Demand Online Learning
3 modules (3 hours each) + 1 hour of pre-reading. Available immediately after registration.
Completion of the modules is required prior to attending the in-person sessions.
In-Person Sessions
Two 3.5 hour sessions will be held at the FuseSocial office October 22 and 27.
These are interactive, group-based trainings that encourage open discussion and real-life scenario simulations.
